The Narrative
A Journey of Dharma
The Birth of Rama
King Dasharatha of Ayodhya performs the Putrakameshti yagna and receives divine payasam. His queens Kausalya, Kaikeyi and Sumitra give birth to Rama, Bharata, and the twins Lakshmana & Shatrughna. Rama is Vishnu incarnate.
Sita's Swayamvar
In Mithila, Rama alone breaks the divine bow of Shiva at Sita's swayamvar, winning the hand of princess Sita, daughter of King Janaka, born from the earth.
The Exile
Urged by the jealous Kaikeyi, Dasharatha sends Rama into 14 years of exile. Sita and Lakshmana lovingly accompany him. The grief-stricken king passes away; Bharata returns and rules in Rama's name as a devotee.
The Abduction
In the Panchavati forest, the demoness Shurpanakha's advances are spurned, leading to conflict. Ravana, King of Lanka, abducts Sita by deception and carries her across the sea.
Hanuman & the Rise
While searching, Rama befriends Hanuman, who leaps across the ocean to Lanka, finds Sita, and brings news. Rama forms an alliance with the Vanara king Sugriva, builds an army, and an epic bridge is constructed across the sea.
The Great War
The mighty battle of Lanka ensues. Valiant warriors and demons clash; Rama slays Kumbhakarna and ultimately Ravana himself. Sita is freed, purified and reunited.
The Coronation
Rama returns to Ayodhya where he is crowned King. His reign — Rama Rajya — becomes the golden ideal of justice, peace and prosperity for all time.
